When I stepped into the role, the native mobile apps were built off fragmented visual assets and screen-by-screen designs.

No Shared UI Libraries: Developers were building custom UI elements per feature, leading to inconsistent button styles, varying typography scales, and fragmented color usage across the apps.

Complex Data Hierarchy: Presenting rich real estate listing data (MLS details, school scores, interactive map markers, price histories) on mobile screens without a structured UI scale created visual clutter.

Research, Analytics, & Discovery

To ensure every system decision and feature overhaul was backed by real user behavior, I established an evidence-based discovery process before diving into UI design.

User Interviews & Usability Testing: Conducted qualitative user interviews, remote usability testing, and surveys with buyers and real estate agents to identify friction in the search experience, specifically targeting map interaction patterns and complex filter fatigue.
